A Life Long Journey
 

The Vocation Journey

A life-long journey consists of an introduction period of affiliation and postulancy. Upon completion of the Novitiate, the candidate professes her temporary vows as a Franciscan Sister and continues her formation period, leading to permanent commitment. She continues to keep updated, informed and prepared to serve in her ministry.

Becoming An Affiliate

As an affiliate you take a period of time to become acquainted with our life and our community. We also get to know you better while you live independent of our community.

Postulancy

If after becoming an affiliate, you feel called to continue the journey you will embark upon a six month period of time of living with our community and discerning your own willingness and ability to live religious life.

Novitiate

This step marks your formal entry into Franciscan community life.

Temporary Vows

During a seven year period of time you live as a vowed member of our community participating in a life of prayer in community, service, discernment and study in preparation for final vows or commitment.

Final Vows

At this stage you make a commitment for life to consecrate yourself to the Lord, Living the Gospel simply and plainly among God's people in the spirit of the Franciscan Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Angels.
