The Story of Sister Liguori Giesberts

I'm a Netherlands fellow Sister and I'll be happy to introduce myself to you. My name is Sister Liguori Giesberts. The youngest of a large family, I was born on April 19, 1926, in Groesbeek, Netherlands.

Fascinated by the life and work of our Sisters in my parish, I too wanted to lead a life as a religious in the service of my fellow human beings.

On October third, 1947, I and two other young women joined our Sisters in Nijmegen. Until I was 60, I worked as a teacher in various elementary schools. Then I retired.

After retirement I worked, and am still working, as an administrator in our region. Together with Sister Immaculata, we do financial, administrative, and other activities as a service to our congregation.

We are happy that we are members of a religious congregation, so that we can follow the example of our Founder Mother Rose in living simply and plainly among the people.
